ジュエリーに関する思い出やエピソードがあれば、教えてください。
ここ数年間、私たちはタトゥー（私たちの腕に見られるもの）と共に仕事をしてきました。それは身体を永久的に飾る方法であり、肌に直接身につけるジュエリーのようなものです。このタトゥーによって、私たちのメッセージは持ち主と常に共にあるのです。どなたでも私たちのタトゥーを手に入れることができるので、そのメッセージは世界中に拡散しています。
Is there any story or memory of jewelry? I would be happy to hear about it if any.
The past few years we have worked with tattoos (the one you see on our arms). It is a permanent way of decorating the body, like a piece of jewelry worn directly on the skin. This way our message can follow the wearer all the time. Anyone can get our tattoo, so the message spreads out into the world.

Please tell me what the main focus of your creation is.
The main focus in our art practice is to make a difference for our viewers – hopefully to change the world, just a little bit, by inspiring people to think and act in new ways. We hope our messages of hope, love and collectivity will reach new audiences and inspire real changes in the world.
作品を通じて、どのようにして他人とのコミュニケーションを図ろうとしていますか？また、人々の生活にどのような影響を与えたいと考えていますか。
私たちは様々なレベルでコミュニケーションをとることを目指しています。まず直接的なレベルで、私たちの作品、その美しさ、素材の質、そしてそれが引き起こす疑問を観る人々に評価してもらいたいと思っています。さらに、私たちは観る人々にもっと深い影響を与えることを目指しています。
世界をより良い場所にするために、どのように貢献できるかを誰もが考えられるきっかけにしたいのです。私たちは毎日、地球や社会、お互いとの関わり方を変えるための小さな一歩を踏み出すことができます。私たちの芸術がこうしたメッセージを広める一助になればと、ささやかながら願っています。
In what ways do you aim to communicate with others through your work, and how do you hope to impact people’s lives?
We aim to communicate on various levels. Firstly, on a direct level, we want our audience to appreciate the artworks, their aesthetics, material qualities, and the questions they provoke. Additionally, we seek to make a deeper impact on our viewers.
We aspire to inspire reflections on how everyone can contribute to making the world a better place. Each day, we can all take small steps to alter the trajectory of our planet, societies, or the ways in which we interact with one another. Hence, it is our humble hope that our art can aid in disseminating these messages.

ヘッセルホルト＆メイルヴァングはデンマークのアーティストデュオで、1999年に共同制作を開始しました。作品は、集合的なアイデンティティの概念や、それらがどのように社会的・政治的構造に影響を与えるかを調査する、サイトスペシフィックで大規模なインスタレーションが中心となっています。作品は緻密な研究がベースとなっており、公共スペースでのアクティブな活動やパフォーマンスを頻繁に取り入れています。屋外やLEDトラック、大使館、人里離れた森、新聞社、タトゥー、芸術施設内など、場所特有の表現が重要な役割を担っています。
Hesselholdt & Mejlvang are a Danish artist duo who began working as a collective in 1999. Their practice is focused on site-specific, large-scale installations that investigate concepts of collective identity, and how these inform and are affected by socio-political structures. Rooted in extensive research as an integral modus operandi, their work often incorporates performance and active use of the public space. Site-specificity plays an important role, whether manifested outdoors or in a venue like an LED truck, an embassy, a remote forest, a newspaper, as a tattoo or inside an art institution.
